How it all started...

I started making jewellery some time ago, this came about when I was looking for something specific that I wanted but couldn’t find anything even close to it. I purchased a small plier set and ordered the bullion I would need to make the earrings I wanted, I enjoyed making them so much that I continued to design and make myself more items. Family and friends soon started expressing how much they liked the items I had made and began asking me to make items for them and to do alterations and repairs to their existing jewellery. 

Starlight jewellery is a start up business and consists of just myself and my personal website designer (my partner Ian Wilson) who has set up this gorgeous website for me.

All the items I make are made from solid 925 sterling silver and precious/semi precious natural stone, all bullion and stones are responsibly sourced from UK suppliers. 

All my items are soldered for security but this also means that your jewellery wont catch on your clothes and pick up excessive amounts of fluff and hair.

Every piece of jewellery on my website, including the stock items, are handmade by myself, the only exception to this are chains under 3mm in diameter, earring hooks and lobster claw clasps.

Stock Items

Stock items will always be remade once sold, if the item you wish to purchase is out of stock at the time of ordering you will be provided with an estimated lead time to completion and dispatch.

Although I have labelled these as stock items I am more than willing to make alterations to them to fit your specific needs. For example if you don’t like lobster claw claps and would rather have a handmade toggle clasp instead this can be specified on the product page when ordering,  I have also included options to lengthen chains by the cm so you can have the perfect fit. 

Do bear in mind that items requiring large alterations may delay the dispatch date, if this is the case you will receive email notification with an estimated dispatch date, the dispatch date will vary depending on whether the bullion is in stock and the size of the alteration.

Altered/customised items cannot be returned for refund or exchange, if there is a fault with the item you have received you will be provided with free return postage for the item to be repaired or replaced.

Bespoke Items

This is the whole reason I set up my website, I love to be an individual and hate all that mainstream stuff you can just buy anywhere and costs a fortune. For example I made a copy of a well known branded necklace, the branded version retails for over £700, I produced an unbranded copy for under £200 and my customer was over the moon with it.

Entirely bespoke items of your design or a design that you have requested will not be remade to the same specifications and will be a one off a kind. These will be displayed on my website in the bespoke section for others to see for inspiration and similar items may be commissioned but they will never be exact copies. Anyone requesting an exact copy of a bespoke piece will be provided with alternative options or an alternative but similar design. Your bespoke piece will be completely individual to you.

Hand Gift Wrapped

The gift wrap service comes in a variety of themes to suit your tastes/needs. Items are hand wrapped as you would at home with recyclable paper and fabric bows, no plastic except for the sellotape holding it together, or cheap organza bags.
